We've been using Omron wrist models for about the last 15 years. The first one lasted ~7 years, the second ~6, the last just started getting flaky. Sometimes it would give a reasonable reading, sometimes not.
I checked it against the doctors reading at the same time and it was about 30 points higher. Apparently their quality control has gone down the drain.
So any good ones?

Whatever you get, your doctor's office should be able to easily check you actual pressure using their sphygmomanometer and immediately compare it to your new machine.

Wrist ones are known not to be as accurate as arm ones.

In all cases, you should sit quietly, both feet on the floor for five minutes before testing, and have the sleeve/wristband at the level of your heart for optimal accuracy. Most doctor's offices don't get it right.

I like the Omron arm version. We have had one for fifteen years, no issues. I bought a cheap, cheap one on Amazon for our pet, along with mini-arm bands. (Trying to get a dog to lie perfectly still and not get excited because you are rolling around on the floor with it is interesting.:)) The largest of the pet bands fit my wife and the readings match the Omron...

All the best,

Peter
