Hi all just wondering if anyone (and,or Chip) can tell me which tractors in the 30-45 hp class are epa certified? I have a 65 hp IH hydro that can be a pain in winter that I use for blowing snow and was thinking about a 30-45hp tractor with a simple gear drive.I live near Buffalo NY so there are no close dealers that Im aware of but everyone on ebay and some websites call everything a 2007 and I dont think alot are telling the truth.I like what Ive read about 35hp Kamas but dont see too many for sale. The 40 hp foton at rural king seems too cheap to be true.I also know Jinma is the most popular and easiest to get parts for.Maybe someone can shed some light on which are truely new models that have epa engines as I dont want to end up with an oddball. Thanks Jason

Why is it important to have an EPA engine? I thought if they sell it in the USA it has to be EPA compliant.

I believe tractors coming in the country now have to bee epa approved, mine is a 2006 and it is epa approved.
I found with Rural King, hamberger flippers assemble the tractors, good tractors, but bad prep.
I wouldn't discount Kama because you don't see them for sale, darn good tractor and Artrc (Chip) is a fantasic dealer with a good parts base.
If you don't want to end up with a oddball then I would deal with known reputable dealers. I know of 4 and they are the only ones I would deal with, just my opinion.
Artrac (chip), Ranch Hand (Ronald), Affordable (Tommy), Circle G ( Phillip)
I would buy anything, tractor or parts off those 4 in a heart beat.
What you would pay to have it shipped to you, you will save in headaches.

Jason,Almost all of the chinese tractors being imported now are EPA approved,we have been selling Jinmas for years with no major problems and started selling the Fotons in the 40hp and up.If you are looking for a 25 hp tractor I think Jinma is the best in that size,if you are thinking 35 or larger, look hard at the Foton FT404 that is one great tractor,we get them with shuttle shift 2-valved remotes.I think the fit and finish on the Fotons is better than any I have seen.We are a large supplier for Jinma parts and added Foton parts about 6-months ago.I have containers coming in monthly so parts will not be a problem for either one.Which ever brand you chose remember that each dealer brings in different models and options,so a FT404 that Rual King brings in is not the same as the tractors that we bring in ,shuttle, engine, remotes, ect. These all add to the cost.We would be glad to answer any questions you have about brands, parts ect.

Thanks Tommy, if I wasnt so **** far away I would pay you a visit.I just wanted to be sure as it seems so many people are selling even the 254 and 354 in so many different configs.I saw a fiew larger fotons 60,80 hp and was very suprised at the quality of the cabs and general fit and finish.Do you have any idea why there seems to be no dealers up my way?I think Ranch Hand Supply is about closest in NC/VA area Thanks Jason

Hi Jason, I try and keep the Jinmas 254LE and 354LE on the ground at all times.

If you are thinking 40hp and up ??..... I recommed the Foton.

All the tractors I bring in are EPA approved.

There are many engines available now with EPA certificates. I think the tractors at Rural King have been here in the states for some time, they made a large purchase and their prices are extremely low, but the ones I have seen were not EPA engines, indicating they were imported in 2004 or 2005. You can get a 40HP foton from a farm pro dealer, but dealer cost is higher than Rural Kings retail price, although farm pro includes a 2 year national warranty plan. The KAMA TS series is a great value and we have 25 and 35HP in stock now. We also have a great buy on a used TS354C with Koyker loader and 132 hours on the clock that can be purchased for less than any crate tractor/loader combination. The KAMA TS254C is the beefiest 25HP model from China and has an 8x8 shuttle shift, high mounted steering cylinder and heavy duty (truck) front differential, excellent for loader work.

The 45 is gone but the 55 will be making a comback soon. they have fitted an EPA approved engine from an outside supplier and are working on the EPA required warranty and maintenance documentation now. I expect we will have KM554 available for shipment by spring.

Chip, you see any future problems with getting parts for the old 554 engines?
