I'm doing a lot of searching for a new CUT with cab. In a lot of ways I think that the 3720 is nearly the ideal tractor for me. Horsepower and PTO HP are just about right. I'd prefer a little more loader capacity, but it would work. I like the control placement in the cab with the exception of the loader control better than on any other tractor (NH/Case IH has the best loader control in my opinion). Since this tractor will mostly be used for mowing, I like the fairly light weight for its power, etc. However there is one HUGE problem with this tractor to me, it's just too narrow. It's not like my land is hilly, it's totally flat with the exception of the property border which has a slight slope, but I just don't feel like this tractor is wide enough. I'm thinking that if I can add 16" to 20" of width to the stance then this tractor may be perfect. So is this possible? If so, how much would it cost? It's a pretty big jump in price to go up to the 4320 cab and I don't really NEED the extra HP, so I'm seeing if I could make a better priced tractor into what I really want. Thanks in advance for the insight and advice.

R4s have more adjustability for width, but not greatest for mowing. The only other reasonable option would be wheel extensions. But even those are kind of expensive.

I had a cabbed 3720 with R4s and now cabbed 4520 with R1. Vastly different in wheel size and how wide the tires can be set. The 4x20 series will also have much better clearance under the tractor than 3x20 series, if that is important. The 4x20 will also give you a better loader lift by 500-700 lbs.

Well I have a 3520-Cab and work a lot of side grades so I added six inch wheel spacers to each side rear which gives me a foot more of overall width.

To me, it looks better, "feels" better and has reduced the pucker factor immensley. You just have to get used to the width. I have side view mirrors which help a lot for watching how close the tires come to a tree etc. But the extra foot for me works great, and the tires are loaded.

Not sure anything wider is a good idea, regarding stress on the rear axles,...but you might want to check with your dealer on that first,....just in case it voids your warranty etc,...just a thought?

I suppose you could contact Unverferth re: hub extensions, however for Zero $$ you could probably reverse the wheels and pick up a couple of inches each side. For a "slight slope" on the property boundary, I'm not really sure why you are so concerned.

I guess I'm worried that the slope will not be quite so slight once I'm in the driver's seat on the tractor. Added to this, when operating the 3720 on the lot I felt like it was a little top heavy, particularly with the cab. Lastly I supposed my desire for a wider stance is somewhat cosmetic. With the cab, the 3720 does look a little narrow for my tastes.

If the slopes are mild, you will not have any issues with the normal width of the 3720. The compactness of the 3720 is a nice feature.
