I have a little LS 2023 that I am considering adding a 6' backhoe attachment to. I was wondering if anyone here owns a Woodmax 3ph mount backhoe. I understand the differences between the 3pt mount hoes & hoes with a sub-frame style mount & completely get that the sub-frame units disburse weight/loads more thoroughly across the machine. It's a matter of economics for me (factory unit about 7K vs 4.5K for the WM) & can I make one of these cheaper priced Woodmax units do what I need (dig small/medium sized trees) without tearing up the *** end of this lil tractor. I had a grading/clearing business for 20 years but did all my tree work with excavators, loaders, & skid steers that I no longer own
I have ZERO experience with any tractor based hoes. Any input regarding this is appreciated & maybe some on here have gone with a 3pt mount hoe of a different brand & could chime in. I have an acre of land to clear & I'm looking at possibly buying a couple of wooded acres next door. It's quite pricey to rent an excavator, even a large mini-x. Then I would have to drop everything all at once or rent multiple times. About the only way I could make this work is to cut down most everything, process the wood & then just dig stumps only with a rental unit. Renting just rubs me the wrong way. I work full time so time constraints are an issue as well. I'm in Florida & would be digging mostly oaks in very sandy soil = easy digging. Thanks in advance to any replies.
