Anybody Add a Mid Mount PTO to D35 - DK50?

Just curious, I bought the bolt on PTO shaft kit for mid mount pto. I thought t was cheap at $250. Apparently, it is designed to fit the DK35 - DK50. It also has a mechanical control (lever). DK35 must have a manual pto. My DK40 is electrically controlled, so I dont think I need the lever mechanism.

I wont install this right away because I need to drain the hydraulic fluid to do it. I'll wait and do it at the filter change at 200hrs, because I didnt change fluid at 50hrs.

Just curious if anyone else has installed one of these and if so, has any tips or hints they could share.

All DK 35's rear PTO's are electric
The mid PTO is engaged with a separate manual lever.
I have never installed a mid PTO.
My older model DK 35 came with mid PTO as standard equipment

I think we would use that lever. there is a spot for it by the remote levers. 2 remotes and one for the PTO.

Dealer wasnt sure, said he hadnt put one in. But he assumed that since the gear connects to the pto shaft, it would turn when the rear pto turns, therefore not needing a lever.

The lever is to shut the mid-PTO off when only rear is needed. Installation is easy. Drain the transmission fluid, remove the plate from bottom of the transmission case, bolt the PTO in its place, hook up the lever and linkage, and install the drain plug in the side of the Mid-PTO case and refill the fluid.

how much lower is the unit? too low for the woods?

Looks like it hangs down about 3" - 4".

Looked a little closer today, the bottom of the unit will be above the backhoe subframe. Interesting, so I wonder if I have to take the backhoe off to run an attachment on the front.
