I browse in 24-hour mode and then click on messages of interest. Flat mode is my default.

The attached screen shot shows what I sometimes get. Everything but the messages. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

If I were a bettin' man, I'd say there was an off-by-one calculation problem in determining which posts should show up on the last page of the thread. I'll hold off on that bet, though, until I find out if it only happens to me. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

It's not just you, Harv.

When I see this, I usually click on the previous page (2 in your example) and scroll down to the bottom of the page to read the new post(s).

There are times after reading the first post and hitting the back button all I get is a blank. Have to go back to message hour box and start over. Never think much about it as the 10 challenges me.

Yep, Harv, I occasionally get that, too. Of course, I had no idea why, but I've learned to click on "previous" to get messages on the screen, then "next" to go from there.

Another oddity, to me. I usually go forum to forum, instead of a time period, scroll down to the first new message, click on the original post in that thread, which pulls up the "flat" display. Now most of the time, that takes me to the original post, then I scroll down to the new posts with the yellow heading, but sometimes when I open a thread in that manner, it takes me initially to the first "new" post in that thread. I wish it did that all the time.

Bird,

If you go to My Home, then Display Preferences, you can set your threads to open in Flat Mode. Then it should open at the new posts' location in the thread. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Bill, I've had it set to Flat Mode all along.

Bird,

Well, your problem is foreign to me, because mine always opens at the initial new post. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I have my Default View set to "Collapsed", not "Expanded". How about you?

I get that all the time, but just have learned to ignore it like some of the other "anomalies" that have possessed the site. I believe that there is a poltergeist living in the computer!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Bill, I've had mine set for "expanded", so I just now changed it to "collapsed" to try that for awhile. What I don't understand is why sometimes I was going to the new post, but most of the time to the original. I haven't kept track well enough, but think it may be different in different forums.

And yep, I believe it works better in the "collapsed" mode. Thanks, Bill.
