Has anyone had any experience with ABI? I have been looking for a finish mower, and theirs seem interesting, and I happen to be in an "advertised" free shipping zone.

No experience, but most of those items are Preifert 3-pt equipment. Not some of those goofy arena-vator type things (I dont' know who makes those. That could be ABI, but I don't know that). I say goofy in that they look different that most anything on the market, but they may work great. Never seen one in action though.

Just thought you might like to know that it's like so many other things out there today... re-branded. Nothing wrong with that... it is what it is.

Also - It says on their website that they are based in Indiana, but the "free shipping" (and I use quotations b/c there is no such thing as free shipping. You're paying for it somewhere) radiates outward from Texas, where Preifert happens to be made and HQ'd. Makes me think that it may actually be related to priefert.

Old post back to life...poof.

Good theory on the Priefert.

I'm looking at getting a boxblade for my BX25. The ABI version seems to be competitvely priced with "free shipping" and black goes with anything. :)

This is an old thread but, FYI, I've been shopping hard for some mix of tractor/UTV attachments to address the challenges of a new piece of property. ABI "IS" Priefert in most circumstances, and is 99% Priefert in the remaining circumstances. ABI's web site is prettier. That costs you 10-20% more. Priefert products are available in familiar shades of blue and green--as they should be.

I pulled an ABI "Gravel Rascal" behind my Kubota RTV500 Utility Vehicle for a year before buying my first tractor.
An excellent, solid tool, well matched to 17-hp of Kubota RTV, performed very well in Florida sandy-loam......pricey.
I would repeat the purchase if I had it to do over.

I "inherited my ABI 6' finishing mower with the property. I replaced the worn blades, changed the hydralic fluid in the motor and greased up the spindles. It has been working flawlessly for almost 2 years now. I have 30 acres of pasture and grass - not thick brush - and I keep it at 4" height. Just keep the wheel and blade spindles greased up good with high-temp grease and it should last you a good long while.
