Anybody here use an RPS solar well pump system?

My 500' well is excellent pumping quality water since 1975, but with electricity going out frequently, I've been researching solar pumps, and found Rural Power Systems solar pumps. The kit comes with everything needed, and seems good. This is for whole house, not just animal watering. The web site says they have pumps for my kind of well and depth.

Just would like to know if anyone here has one. Thanks.

I have not used the RPS, but I have used two other off-grid solar pumps. Grundfos SQF, and SunRotor. The Grundfos was a lovely pump but burned out after two years. I now have the SunRotor which so far is a great pump and comes with GREAT controls. You can adjust the pump speed from the controls, and set the restart timer for how long a wait before the pump restarts if the water level drops too low. This lets you adjust the pump to fit the output of your well. I'm pumping about 20 gallons per minute from 110 feet. The pump and controls cost a shade over $2k (that doesn't include solar panels). I ordered it from The Solar Store in Bend, OR.

Thanks Mike. The RPS is on sale for $2,600 with 800 watts solar panels, batteries, everything you need I think. My current pump is about 365 down I think. Water level never gets low in my well, very good stream it痴 in down there. If I can afford it, I want to get it before next summer. It壇 be amazing to never have to worry about water being off!
