That guy is a KDX machine. He's won more races on a KDX than you imagine. He can outride anyone on a KTM at twice the price with a KDX.

Don't mean to start a riot here but Fredette, although a great rider, did not beat Scott Plessinger in the 90's ( KTM rider ) or Watts ( KTM rider) in the early 2000's and he especially did not beat Juha Salmenin the past 2 years. ( KTM rider and current GNCC champ) He was a great rider but not a GNCC champ. )</font>
You are missing Jeff's main strength, his longevity, and the fact that his is still out there "doing it". He was past his prime in the 90's and beyond. I have ridden aginst him many a time in the 80's and can assure you he is one of the smartest, most consistent riders out there. We used to call him "the turtle" because he was on something green (the KDK), and although he may have been a little slower than the latest fast guy, he was always there at the finish.
I can disitinctly remember running the Blackwater 100 with him several times where I would pass him (always wore his blue ISDE helmet, you couldn't miss him), do something stupid, or fall into one of Blackwater's numerous traps, and watch the "turtle" move back around me, repeat process again, etc.
Finally on the third lap with my tongue now out dragging the ground, Fredette motored around for good. I think he finished third that year.
The tougher the race, the better Jeff performs! A true good guy that has always been a good ambassador for the sport.
I am an old AA Enduro rider, but too tired and too many broken collar bones to mix it up with the boys anymore. I certainly have a healthy respect for somebody that can be still be doing it for as many years as Jeff has.
Thanks!
