Anybody near Salem, Virginia need Hobart 6010 in 50lb boxes? Public Surplus auction

There's a Public Surplus auction going on in Salem, Virginia and they are auctioning boxes of Hobart electrodes in 50lb sealed boxes in about 15 separate auctions. I think it's all 6010.

Example -

1 50lb box of 3/16 hobart 6010. Reason for unknown is because they are in sealed metal boxes.

Condition: UNKNOWN

I'd provide a link but I'm never sure if the mods allow it.

Since Feb 27th there have been no bids and the starting bid is $45. There are 5 days left on the auction. Then you need to pick it up within 5 days.

It just seems like an excellent opportunity for a welder to pick up some sticks to burn cheap.

They also have about a dozen rolls of wire.

I think the reason for no bids is that its 6010 rod. junk i my opinion. Might be good for someone that wants to learn because of the easy starting and can weld on some dirty and rust scraped steel.

I made my wife a cookie sheet out of some Ti6Al4v (grade 5) that I had laying around for years. I think it is about .035" thick. I put it on the brake we have at work and started bending. I wanted about a 1/2" lip on the long edge for strength and a place to grab with a pot holder. When it got close to 90 degrees, it started cracking and in a couple places, actually split in half. I ended up tig welding it back together at the bend.

You should probably let all those pipe weldors know that they are using the wrong rod. Whudda thunk it? Why don't they just use 6013... it's so much easier.

I did some pipe welding in the pass, not so much now. I used 7018 root pass and cap. Now must guys that come to our plant with use tig for pipe or if outdoors they will use use 6011 if its wet conditions and 7018 for normal conditions. but most say they hate the 6011.
