Anybody replaced a battery yet

   / Anybody replaced a battery yet #11
The batteries on my equipment last an average of 5-7 years. The exception was a gel cell battery I purchased from a local dealer - eleven years. I looked at an Odyssey AGM battery for my Kubota - WOW, the price was astronomical. It was right at $400.

Over the years I have standardized on AGM batteries for all of my vehicles and have tried a few brands. Optima's had provided the best experience and I am happy with them. I also carry high quality 2 gauge jumper cables, along with a home made emergency battery jumper system. Due to poor performance of most of the portable battery jumper devices, I now build my own using standard automotive AGM batteries in a marine case I add marine 12VDC receptacles and automotive charging posts to, along with 2 gauge, high current connectors for accessory usage.

The Sears AGM gold battery I have in one of the cases has more rated capacity and heavier weight per rated size (34 I think). I previously used this battery/case assembly connected to a 50 watt solar panel, connected to a sine wave inverter that fed battery chargers for all of my non-daily use autos, garden tractor, trailer system, etc. I was impressed at how well it worked and have decided to use this as my new AGM standard. I was told by someone on a TBN post it was an Odyssey, so you may want to investigate this. I do not have the exact battery model number handy.
