Kubota BX-23 & Toolcat 5600 D
Hi,
I'm wondering if anybody is using a front mounted snow blower (e.g. Erskine) on their Kioti. I presently have a Kubota BX23 with a Kubota blower and although it's the cat's meow for many applications, I'm thinking about something heavier for clearing the roads in our whole subdivision. The Kioti 45s is very interesting as are other Kioti and Kubota models, but one big plus for any machine is knowing how others have fared with their snowblowers. Kubota has a pretty-much turnkey solution while that doesn't appear to be the case for Kioti. That's not a big issue with me, but it does bring-up the topic of availability of front-mount throwers for the Kioti.

FWIW, Erskine does have a rear-mounted snow thrower that you use while driving forward. The only issue there is that the tires of the tractor mash down some of the snow prior to the blower getting to it. I don't know if that's a big issue or not.

Thanks in advance for any input!

Kioti was developing a front mount but stopped the project as noted in a previous thread last December. Maybe they will have them for next winter.

I bought a rear mount last fall and it's not as bad as I thought it would be. I think the blowing snow is more of a problem than driving backwards. I would rather put the money into a cab b/4 the front mount.

Sounds like fun though clearing a whole subdivision with 45 hp, a cab, and a front blower.

I have the mid mount PTO and would interested in front mount snowthrower for a CK20.

Anyone done the homework on this and want to share?

I think most of the problems come from the GPM of the hydro fluid. You can’t get enough GPM to drive the blower up front, hence the PTO drive in back. I’m having the same problem now with a trencher - just not enough fluid flowing.

Whereas the skidsteers put out major gpm hydro fluid

I am intrigued by their design.

We put the big Ford snowblower, which we bought in 1981, on the JD990 and it is making short order of the snow. Many moons ago, the highway dept let the drifts get too tall on the hill going up the hill and so we had to use the old Ford with this snowblower to make them a lane so they could plow. I will be glad when the hydraulic cooler comes in and I can get the CK20 back in business.

I guess though that I am going to table the notion of a front snowblower for now given I can just go up to the barn and put on the big snowblower...it is a bear to put on and take off. Most snowfalls are not such formidable opponents as to need that.

Bookmarking that website for future reference though and thanks much!

Kendall69, thats what I figured, but I noticed they recommend 11 to 18.8 GPM and my tractor has a total pump flow of 12.7. I wasn't sure if their recommend was flow at the remote or total. You probably wouldn't want to go much smaller in snowblower width than the 60" on my size tractor. So for now I'll just use the bucket until I can find someone getting rid of a plow blade dirt cheap then I'll weld something up to work.

Kioti 2015 BK2510 has a mid mount front snowblower that does an amazing job in heavy snow I just ordered the rig. My dealer used one last year and said it was the cat's azz. Pricey up here in Cah nah dah, tho. Still, I don't like the rear blowers. atall. I uv the hydro stat tranny and the power hydraulic steering. Easier than eating donuts... in a heated cab.
