First of all, I do not have a pine tree on my property.
I have seen people use these rakes for yard cleanup with some success.
I have looked at the towable ones that could be pulled behind a mower.
Those have a lever to lower and raise the rake to dump the contents.
I have seen the 3 point rakes and those would be OK....but not when the ground is wet. My Kubota would easily tear up the grass and yard cleanup would take on a whole different meaning.
So I have to decide if I want to buy one of those towable ones for behind my mower or build one.
I can buy one for about $300 anywhere.
I know I can build one cheaper....may not be as pretty. I would also add an actuator to eliminate the lever "dump" system.
Anyone attempt one of these simple builds?
Anyone have one of these rakes and will they work for my purpose? (leaves, small twigs, etc)

I have also considered a landscape rake but I feel that would be a little too intense for my purpose.

I guess you could copy this design: Pine Needle Rakes | Pine Straw Rakes | Prepare Pine Needles For Baling with the Everything Attachments Pine Needle Rake 72" Length

I make a "jelly roll" circuit around my yard in the fall with my mid-mount mower. All the pine needles, twigs & crap ends up in a pile in the center.

I would do that if I could. But I live in the Ozark. Unless the ground is perfectly dry there is no way to get the Kubota on it.
Ledge rock with a fairly thin layer of top soil requires a gentle touch.
I need something to tow behind a small, lighter machine.
I was thinking a pine needle rake may be the way to go.
But judging from the lack of comments....maybe not.

A number of years ago, I built this rake to attach to a universal 3 point tool frame.
It worked quite well with the ground I used it on, and the material on that ground. It also worked OK for some light gravel, pot hole maintenance and the like.
And was considerably cheaper to build than other purchased, dedicated implements at the time..
