I always thought that factory running boards looked the best and that's what I'm struggling with as well. An aftermarket board would work for me if I could find one for a better price than factory boards. I'll add that I have an 05 Tundra for door and a 2011 extra cab. No drilling for me.

My son has a set of Luverne on his truck I bought back in 2003 and they still look great too, good product. I needed something wider or I's still have them.

My '99 plain jane SuperDuty extended cab has diamond plate running boards that still look good except where I backed over a hidden rock in some weeds. That put a hump in one that could be straightened. The wide board is helpful when loading the Grandkids and the Grandmothers and other elderly folks. I think you young fellas are looking for something more hip however.

It really depends on what you use them for and if you just want a bling.
Mine are GO Industries Rugged Steps that are used for a work / farm / hunting truck. Mud falls right through, easy to clean, never slippery. You can stand on them with both feet.
