My apologies if this thread offends anyone here or they consider it morbid. Further apologies to author Stephen King for plagarizing and b**tardizing his book title.

We have lost three cats to serious illnesses plus a dog to a roadfront accident, all at various times since 1998. After the first cat was put to sleep, my wife asked if I could build a small wooden casket and would I bury her beloved pet out back? Which I was happy to do.

Visitors sometimes inquire what the stones are for although the site is about 400 feet away from the house. Anybody else think this is weird? None of our visitors do, which probably reflects highly on them..me, I'm the weird one.

I do. I have my 2 horses buried in their favorite spot: where they always gathered to say hello, thanks for the treats and let's go riding. I had a granite headstone marker made up for them, too. I was a city boy until my wife introduced me to horses. You could say that they were the cause of property, barns, tractors, haying, windmills and really good friends. On the other hand, I had my dogs cremated and I have their ashes waiting to go along with me. A dear friend passed a while back and he had the ashes from all his dogs placed in the casket with him. I decided that this would be my wish as well as theirs.

We have buried a few pets behind our shed through the years. An odd fovorite pet we had was a guinea pig that my son brought home from kindergarten at summer break that lived for 6 years in our back yard in a portable pen. He would squeal for you to pet him if you got near the pen. He got out on a regular basis but he never went more than a few feet from his pen. We had a young dog that would jump his fence to eat his food. He would come out of his little house and head butt the dog to get it away from his food. My wife wanted to get another one when he died of old age but I told her we would never have another "furry".
We don't have any permanant markers, just a few wooden crosses with some plastic beads on them.

We have a little "grove" off to the side and rear of our property with four horses, two dogs, two cats and a coon buried there. (The coon only because he showed up obviously sick so I put him out of his misery and not wanting to take a chance, buried him where he would not be disturbed)

We have only one neighbor who could care less but still, the grove has trees around so even in the winter, no one can see me if I have to put another animal to rest though it is not illegal.

Have buried varius pets in different places around the yard, generally the areas they frequented the most. My old hunting buddy has a decoy placed over his site. That's about the extent, though I am trying to keep them more centralized

You are not weird you are real. My mother's ashes were spread with her Great Danes (5 of them) ashes.
My dogs that are gone are "on the mantle" waiting for me to join them and my wife's "heart dog" will be with her when she passes as well, I am sure that by the time I go that there will more dogs waiting on the mantle as well.
If you sir are weird may I say that I wish there were more weird people like you in this world. We would all be better off if more people were like you.

We have pet cemetery too. I want my ashes to be scattered or buried in the same place.

I had my Mickey cremated and his ashes are in an urn waiting for the day when Minnie and I join him. I had planned on having a good friend care for all of our ashes but lately I have been thinking that I might instead have them mixed together and scattered over the farm I lived on when I was a very young boy.

blackie (small dog) has rocks over him, and then grill from kitchen were A/C would come through. as a header piece.

hombra (medium size dog) has rocks over her, and a fan that stands up on pedestal, should would always find and lay in front of.

boggen (medium size dog) only had him for a year, and for walks, would place little head lights (flash lights with a band you would stick on your head) but would place it around him like a collar. he loved them, and got mad if he went out at night without one. he really did use them, and would reach up with his head to shine the flashlight/head light on things, so he has rocks over him and a couple solar lights on him as well.

all 3 graves are near a cabin further back on the farm.
