I have an L3800 and I bent the HST damper. Is this part a common part to several models? (Part #32721-43350 is on eBay... will that work?)

Anyone here ever replace this part?

Thanks!

Anyone ever bent this thing when clearing?

Thanks!

Well I was able to remove the HST damper easily. It had a small bend in the sliding shaft and that caused the HST pedal to bind in the forward-moving position.

It's easy enough to bend that damper if you get a stick jammed up into the assembly and you push too hard on the HST pedal.

Lesson learned.

Thanks!

Thanks for updating in case anyone else ever runs into this problem.

I also bent my HST damper as wall as the mounting bracket in the rear. I tool it off and bent it back, both the bracket and damper. I jammed a limb up under my tractor when clearing which is what bent the damper. I never knew what it was called until after I had to fix it. I was going to just replace it but the dealer wanted over $200 for it.

I had the same thing to happen. Luckily I was able to straighten mine. Wish could post a picture on here of the guard I made for my tractor. I made a bellie pan that starts at the front wheels and runs to the front of the rear tires the narrows to go between the rears to the front of the drawbar. Used existing bolts for mounting brackets. Four 3/8 bolts hold the pan to the brackets. Less than 5 minuites with the floor jack and ratchet and it is of for servicing. Have not had any more stick problems!!

Sammie, I wish you could post a pic of that too! What did you use for the belly pan? Did you use sheet steel and if so what size?

The frame is 1 1/2 angle with 1" flat bar across as strips for support. I used expanded metal. I will see if I can get my wife to get some pictures. It is off right now because I serviced the tractor today. May be off for a few days, I want to get a gauge and check the hydraulic pressure.
