I am not a big fan of turf tires on grass..esp where I live with all the hills and valleys...and everyone runs Bar tires (For good reason..they work good!) but I came across these...and was wondering peoples thoughts on them?

the aspect ratio on them is alittle bit smaller then stock tires...dont think it would be much difference though...

Sorry Monster318, but I think you're throwing good money after bad. I just yesterday replaced an almost new set of rear tires on my Husqvarna GHT26VL52 mower/tractor that came with 23 x 10.5 -12 turf tires. When trying to mow the sides of the dam on my pond, even with wheel weights, it just couldn't get traction sometimes.

I order a set of these from Amazon:

They ran about $98 each but since I ordered them I've seen them for $86 delivered.

Monster 318,
Those look to much like an R4 tread type and I suspect they would not be near as good as R1 or lug type tires for traction.

Yeah I think you are right...I am more looking into these now....I like the way they look and people who have reviewed them say they had good results using them...

yeah - those will definitely get you all the traction you want or need! I chose the all terrain tires because I also use that mower occasionally in some parts of the yard. Those R1 type would tear up the ground too bad. But - if the AT tires don't get the job done, I'll know exactly what will :)

Thanks for the info though. I'll be able to give the AT tires a test in two or three weeks, and will let you know how good or bad they work for me.

Yeah I think I am most likely going to be going with these...Another idea I was paying with is that my front tires on my 318 are mismatched, worn out..dry rotted and cracked...one is just starting to slowly leak air....Was kind of thinking of buying a matching set of these for the front...but I am not sure if that's just over doing it...

These tires are awesome on a garden tractor. I used them mostly for snow because I could not run chains on some of the new concrete driveways I do. With these tires and weights, my old JD 110 is unstopable. Pretty easy on the turf too.

If these All Terrain tires do work good, I'll have a pair of factory supplied turf tires, 23 x 10.5 - 12 with 40 hours on them - for FREE; recipient pays shipping only. They're so new they still have some of the nubbies on them :)

I run bar lug tires on my Craftsman zero turn and in straight away, they don't mess up the grass. Even turning, they are ok as long as I don't rush it or try to turn too sharp. On a tractor style mower, they should be no more than a turf tire as long as the ground is not soft. I put them on my mower just for the soft ground around ditches and ponds because the turfs were always slipping sideway and getting me stuck. With the bar lugs I can power out of the muddy areas even though I might leave a rut.

I have some areas of spring fed lowland behind one of my ponds that can only be mowed during really dry weather OR by using the bar lug tires and mowing it wet (standing water sometime)and they work really well. I keep my Craftsman ZTR mostly just for such purposes and use my Ferris for everything else. That beats the heck out of weed eating a 50x70 foot area.
