I need a barn fan and see one of these for sale. It's a Mountain brand "barrel" or "direct drive" fan. This is what it looks like.

It's new and the price is right but it's made in China. What isn't? Sill, I'd like to see if I can find anyone that owns one for an opinion.
I need one for the barn in either 30' Or 36" diameter.

Maybe someone likes a different brand?

Not familiar with the brand. One thing to do is make sure you plug it in and see if it moves the air you want moved. Or be able to return it if there is not one for demonstration. It’s amazing how many of the big fans spin and make noise and move little air for their size.
Also check how much if any it vibrates.

Our local Ace Hardware store had a couple big ones like you show. Customer accidentally turned one on. Had sufficient force and volume to almost totally strip the shelves on the side of the store it was aimed at. This fan would have created a HOLY dust storm in a barn. The best barn fans I've seen are mounted up in the open cupolas and pull hot air - up and out. These cupola fans may raise a little dust but you can, at least, see from one side of the barn to the other.

We have a 36 inch. It is from TSC. In our stall barn it moves a good bit of air. There is NOT a dust storm. I can稚 comment on the brand you bought. However the concept is good.

I do not have one of these fans, but have considered one.

Home Depot sells the 42" "Maxx Air".
It is an "industrial fan" (same style as your pix) priced at $329.
The manufacturer model number is: Maxx Fan # BF42BDORGPRO.
Wouldn't bigger (42") be better?
Jet.com, and Zoro.com, both sell the 36" version for $229.95 (no tax)
