I had its larger cousin, the B1750 for a couple of years till upgrading to the L series. Nice, albeit small tractor if you don't push it real hard. What are you looking to do with it?

I have 400' paved driveway, downhill from the house, flat parking area on top. Want to hook up a snowblower to clean it. The FEL would just work around the yard, sort of a power wheelbarrow. No major stumps to pull, just move topsoil, clean out the rocks, build stone walls etc. 4X4for the driveway, and hydro so my wife can use it also. Smaller MMM for the grass, I have only one ac. to cut. Thanks, Joe

That sort of stuff the B1550 would excel at! Light, nimble, forgiving and very manueverable! Go for it! Pete

Joe, I have a B1550 (4 wheel drive) hydro with a front end loader. It is equipped with a belly mower and I also have the grass catcher for it. I also have a stone rake, rear blade, aerator, post hole digger, and small trailer. It just turned 1,000 hours this week. The only problem (if you call it that) since owning it new in 1988 is that I had to replace the battery. NOTHING ELSE!! I think I'll have to replace the exhaust pipe in the near future as I've got a pin hole leak. I've used this tractor to move huge amounts of dirt, one bucket at a time, over the years. Pushed small trees over, carry rocks, stumps, wood piles, you name it. Even a large roll of carpet off of a delivery truck. Never once has the B1550 failed me. Just to let you know I certainly USE the tractor hard but try not to abuse it. Other than wanting a bigger tractor (just love the L3130) but can't afford one now my 1550 has been a good tractor to say the least. The wife even fights me over who is going to cut the 3 acres of lawn. The front end loader is not like the newer ones and is a little of a pain to take off and put back on. Belly mower certainly is harder to put on/take off as compared to a rear mower but you can get closer to trees, the house etc. Unsure if down the road I would get a belly mower or rear mower or a dedicated zero turn mower. Of course money is always the deciding factor. As long as the 1550 runs good I'll keep it a few more years. For what its worth I change the oil every 50 hours. Sorry no pics. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Any further questions please ask.
