Anyone have a German-made 1020?

I've never seen anything like that key. I would want a JD ignition switch and key.

I have a 72 german built 820 which is a lot like the 1020 and my original key looks nothing like that. I have much newer tractor, but I always jump on my 820 first, what a machine.

cartod, that 820 looks great and I remember when I finished refurbishing my '73 model about 15 years ago. Sure was proud of the way it turned out. I added the canopy top a few years later and that worked out great for the sun here in the southwest.

Curious how it is working out with the land plane? I had to think about it but I don't recall trying mine out with the 820.

Zetor and Belarus have used that key, and probably switch.

The Mannheim 1020 and the Dubuque 1520 are the same tractor wearing some different external pieces. Europe mandates a parking brake instead of a "parking lock" etc.
The 820 and all but the last few 830's were a low priced version with an open center hydraulic system.

Key in photo fit these JD models. Part number is L22964. IIRC one pushed key in to turn on ignition and pulled out to stop ignition. These early models also use elect fuses that resembled fuses used in VW Bugs
