Chipper anyone have an Amerind MacKissic PTO chipper?

I recently purchased an old Amerind MacKissic PTO chipper, I believe the model is 810A.

I was wondering what PTO speed it is supposed to run at, since I tried at 540 and it seemed a bit slow.

I searched here & on Google, but there seems to be very little information out there on them.

I've got an 80's vintage one and it runs on 1000/960 pto. Mine basically looks like the newer TPH-12 model. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with mine now my new B3030 only has the 540 rear pto. Makissick is very helpfull if you call them, they actually e-mailed me a pdf file of the parts breakdown, but the parts are rather pricey. If you have an 8" bottom pulley and a 3.355 top pulley then you need to change the bottom pulley to a 14" (almost $300). Post some pics if you've got them.

Sounds like the same one I have. Rather than spending that much for a pulley, I might just convert it to a free-standing unit by adding a small engine. Have you given that any thought?

I'll post pic's if it ever quits raining up here.

I thought about adding a motor, but I really like having one less motor to deal with. I've got to start actively looking for a better pulley price or just sell it to someone who has 1000 rear pto and buy a new one. Or if I can find a 2:1reduction unit and add it to the pto shaft (food for thought). Falls coming fast so I need to do something.
