I am about to start a new 25' by 30' with a 10' by 30' patio barn. It will replace three small storage buildings lost in last Year's Firestorm 2003. It has taken this long to get past the County Building paper work and to have the plans approved. I am waiting for the concrete contractor to do the footing and floor.
I would like to add an old Barn Trolley that used a rope lift locking pulley Assembly to lift hay into the end of the barn if I can find one. It would be a conversation piece (most California city folks have never seen one) but I would like to make it operable. It would be handy to lift bulky items into the "loft" for storage.
I noticed that occasionally a TBN member posts about moving, rebuilding or demolishing old barns. If anyone has one laying around I would sure be interested. I would probably make a new track if I can find a complete trolley.
I have a camera set up to record progress once construction starts. Rain has held the contractor back, but he has promised a start date early in the new year. I will start a project thread and post some photos of the plans as soon as construction starts and with wroughtn harv's (HarveyLacey.com) approval, I will post photos and the movie clips on his web site.
Thanks guys -- I will keep you informed --- Leo in San Diego
