I've been looking to pick up a ZT mower to replace my JD GT275 that has a leaky hydrostat. I have a Christmas tree farm that currently entails about 4 acres of mowing and will be 9 by the time it's all planted out. I don't want much over a 54" deck because it will start to get tight between the trees as they get bigger. I could go a little bigger, but it doesn't really buy me anything as I make two passes per row anyway to make sure I get right up next to the trees on each side.
I had set the top of my budget at 3k for the used mowers I was looking at. The JD dealer in town has a really good reputation, and they are selling the 2021 54" 515E for just a tick over 4k which is a little more than I wanted to spend, but I might be willing to go up that much for a new mower. Anyone have any experience with this mower or have any suggestions for other mowers that would work well for me?
