Anyone have info on a Dacis Backhoe/Tractor?

While looking for a used tractor that would work for my project I came across a Dacis Backhoe/tractor.

They say nothing about year built or hours on unit.

Does anyone know anything about them?

Are they any good?

Are they known for problems?

To me it seems to be priced to high for the shape it is in.

Well, firstly the poster made a typo..........this a "Davis" rig which later became Case-Davis as in the former J.I. Case company now known as CNH Global which bought the Davis trenching company.

Second, production dates are late 1970s/early-mid 1980s for this machine. It's no spring chicken. Could be a cream-puff, but, it's got some age on it nonetheless.

Third, don't know what your project is.

Fourth-price. I would not pay $7500 for this unit. It's too specialized, aged, and unpredictable for the money. Not necessarily a "bad" machine........just older and quirky.

Invest more in a newer tractor with attachments that can do more and be more versatile over the long term OR just buy an older backhoe in good shape that can do everything this thing can and then some appreciably and sell it once done for whatever you fell comfortable getting.


This little machine seems intriguing but it was an attempt at being a small scale jack of all, yet, master of clearly none on the same scale.

and it was not davis it was david brown that became part of ji case

davis is it own company and was a three point hitch backhoe

Um, no.

Davis was a maker of small trenching equipment that came of age in the 1960s/70s before before being bought by and incorporated into the Case Construction line. Some old brochures of theirs:

I believe they may have been the same company associated with MF for many years building mounted backhoes, not sure.
