i was wondering how you like it's overall performance.

also, how hard is it to replace knives and anvil. i hear it is a clamshell design, but woodmaxx provides no pictures.

I have the WM-8M PTO CHIPPER. Its somewhat different also without the hydraulics. Works better than I figured it would.
Seeing how you have questions on the new version why not call Woodmaxx?

i emailed them, and all they can tell me is it has a clamshell design. that doesnt tell me anything. they also said that they have no video available showing knife replacement.

changing knives on my Jimna sends shivers down my spine, and gives me nightmares.

You can call them.... Always the best way to get answers.

I can say that their customer service has been great. I have their 72" snow blower(no issues with it at all) and the WM-8H chipper is on a truck scheduled to deliver to me tomorrow! I do seem to think on youtube there was a video or two on the MX8800 or 9900 chipper. Both of those have the same features I believe. Best of luck in your research!

I've got one, thought I had some pictures of it opened up for maint but I don't. It's not hard, bolt to open the clamshell is in an spot where you can't get a impact driver on it making it a little frustrating. Replacing the blades doesn't take long, I'm at about 30 hrs and just put in a new set but it was a little over due. Replacing the anvil takes a little more effort than the blades but has great access.

Overall I'm happy with it but I really wish it had dual rollers, it's had a lot of stuff that needed help to feed and the whole reason for hydro feed was so I didn't have to babysit it as much.

Overall performance like I said I've got about 30 hours on it and I've chipped probably 40-50 yards of material. I clear one weekend then chip the next. Chips are used for hog bedding and they compost it. Most of the garden is planted in the compost now. It doesn't like to feed vines but I've found if I feed vines with branches or larger material it will doesn't care, if you feed vines alone they are almost guaranteed to wrap around the feed wheel and gum up the works.

I'd buy it again.

great...thank you. that was what i was needing to know. my Jimna doesnt like vines much either.

my jimna has mechanical feed rollers and they are pretty good, but not very aggressive. i was hoping that the hydraulic would be better than you described though.

Yeah, vines will wrap around the feed wheel pretty dang quick. It's easy to throw it in reverse and unwrap them, it's just less than ideal. I've only had to cut some out two or three times.
