I have been looking for a tooth bar for a while now and no one in Ontario seems to want to build them. I am thinking of ordering one from the USA and want to know if anyone else is looking for one. I import a lot from the USA and use a logistics carrier based in London and can easily bring in a skid of tooth bars in. The more tooth bars bars ordered the lower the shipping costs will be. Anyone interested?

Yes, Don I have. I emailed / phoned over a dozen times and never received an answer. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Strongco (905) 670-5100 (near Pearson Airport) has a bunch, but not the size I was looking for when I went looking for it.

Also call up Ed Stewart's Equipment +1 (888) 833-9616 or (519) 833-9616 and ask for Randy if he's there. There isn't anything I've wanted that they can't get me yet.

Hi Luremaker,

Great idea. I'd be interested if the price was reasonable. I am near Newmarket. L3400 with 60" loader bucket. So far, the price of a 'proper' toothbar has been outrageous.

Let me know what you come up with.

Shawn, this is what I have found out so far about toothbars delivered to Ontario including shipping & brokerage. Based on our dollar at $1.20 CAD = $1.00 USD. Taxes are extra.

48" - ~$350.00 CAD
60" - ~$370.00 CAD
72" - ~$390.00 CAD

Attached is a toothbar spec sheet to make a custom fit toothbar.

What makes you think this is a business? I am looking for a toothbar made to measure for my bucket. If I can save on shipping by ordering 2 or 3 toothbars I can save between 50% and 60% on shipping. Already ordered mine and one other (neighbor). Hoping for one more! I'll have mine the first week of August.

Sounds very interesting, Luremaker.

How many teeth (spacing apart) for a 60" bucket?

I would need to give you exact inside dimensions (I think it is more like 58 5/8") ??

Have you been pleased with the weight of the product?? ie. is it less expensive because it is so light duty??

Where are you planning to ship it to? Would Newmarket be do-able or is Pearson Airport in T.O. more reasonable?

Do the folks you are ordering from have a web-site or picture?

Does the bar have flanges with bolt holes to attach to the inside lateral sides of the bucket, or does it simply bolt onto the cutting edge as some do??

Are the teeth of the replacable variety (like backhoe buckets) or are they welded solid?

I am not looking for anything overly heavy or fancy. I would be happy with just about anything, but expectations are everything. If we know fairly closely what we are purchasing ahead of time, then I'm sure we will be more pleased with the product. I have seen t-bars made specifically for skid stears and they have been VERY heavy with an appropriately heavy price.

Your pricing sounds excellent...certainly less than I can get my local welder to make something.

Thanks in advance,

Shawn

I'd be interested in one if I can get one made for the bucket on my 2210. Are they still available?
