I have a Honda WH15X that I use to irrigate frome the pond. Runs a hose and several sprinklers. I think the WB15 will work great ,much better than 12V. I wouldn't have the pump run for too long with your nozzle closed. I leave a hose running back into the pond so some water is always flowing, keeps the pump from getting hot if I shut down my hoses. You could get a garden hose 'Y' that lets you run two hoses from one spigot and run one short hose back into your barrel. Looking at the pump specs you should be fine running a sprinkler. You don't have to run the engine wide open either, mine runs one hose nicely just above idle.

Guess your building a tank sprayer
Well if you plumb it back to tank you will keep whatever you mix well agitated. Better investigate what that pump was designed for...some chemicals are corrosive. What type chemical are you thinking of?
I use 1" poly pipe and nylon barb fitting for garden irrigation lines. Sometimes just a garden hose quick coupled. Plus a short piece of washer machine hose on the discharge side gives me some stress relief at the pump. Years ago I bought a very nice 1" reinforced suction hose from Northern Tool after my original one accidently melted against the hot engine muffler.

Right most pumps are sold for clear water use. On roller pumps its usually recommended to use stainless series with glysophate products such as roundup. At the greenhouse we run water soluble powdered fertilizers thru all types of equipment with no problems.
You will be able to move water with just fine I water plants from a brook on the weekends using just a garden hose attached with a quick connect and long handled wand. I only need part throttle and a short one inch line

You can bypass any pump & use the water flow to add chemicals/fertiliser metered in to the delivery hose if you caculate/match the the delivery volume/pressure to the metering - it's never entirely accurate but it is workable on most equipment.
