anyone know anything about the old 70's?

I have an old JD 70, 7 hp tecumseh, that leaks oil. It looks like its leaking out the bottom but I could be wrong. Its probably something simple like a seal somewhere but haven't torn it apart yet to look. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Are you talking about a front rider 30" cut? My dad had a 68 years ago with an 8hp Tecumseh in it.

no this is one of the "miniature" tractors, in the series with the model 60, 70 and 100.

built, 1970 - 1974, horizontal engine, lower seal should still be available (m41797), could also be breather, cyl head, etc. Clean it up real well and see if you can spot it. Straight units of this vintage imo with nice paintjobs are SHARP SHARP looking lawn tractors.

This is a vertical shaft engine, been watching eBay for parts.

These originally had a Tecumseh VH70 cast iron motor in them. It was not used in anything else I know of, and has been out of production for many years. Parts may be impossible to get at this point, so take good care of it. You can make your own "paper" gaskets with kits from autoparts store for some applications.
