I was admiring the electric hitch on Johnny Bucket for cubs. That's probably what I'll get.

I have a 3205 and wondered if there's anyplace that makes a manual hitch similar to these:

Craftsman Sleeve Hitch - Model 24536 at Sears.com

If so, where would I find one?

Try Lowes. They might have the MTD sleeve hitch.

Will MTD sleeve hitches fit the 3205 OK? Could be, as they're all MTD, right?

There are MTD sleeve hitches on Ebay periodically.

When I went through the same process, MTD told me the quick hitch will not work on the Cub Cadet 2500 series. Compare to the electric sleeve hitch sometimes sold on e-bay about 1/2 the cost of the CC electric hitch.

I purchased a new Brinly DD-551 Disk Harrow through Home Depot On-line, thinking that when it arrived I would run down to my Cub Cadet dealer and get a sleeve hitch kit for my CC 2042. WRONG! The 2000 series and 2500 series is the same chassis, and they do not make sleeve hitches for them. Several places manufacturer and sell electric sleeve hitches but at a price.

Then my disk arrived, and unlike the stereotypical male, I read the instructions first. Unless you really have reason for lifting the disk, you really don't need a sleeve hitch. In fact, the instruction say to adjust or remove the stabilizer bolts to allow the disk plenty of side to side movement.

I did go back and add 24 inches to the tongue length so I could turn a little sharper without having to worry about hitting my tractor. On my extended tongue I weld a 1-7/8" trailer hitch instead of using pin and clip.

I doubt it. The MTD Quick-Hitch sleeve hitches attach using shoulder bolts and the hitch plate. I believe the width of the drawbar is different between the 2500/3000's, and the more generic MTD LT's. I don't know this for sure, just happened to look into this a couple years back and that's what it seemed like to me upon inspection.

Cub Cadet does make an electric sleeve hitch for the 2000/2500's: Part Number 190-827. Generally goes for about $960, and is listed on Cub's web site under "Attachments" for any of the 2500 series tractors.

I've been thinking more about building a 3-point hitch setup for my 2544 lately. I think it would just give so much more versatility over the sleeve. You can use sleeve, drawbar, 3-pt implements, and a weight setup. It's just a matter of some fab work, you can find kits on ebay that already have the lower lift arms, vert lift arms, and top links for about $130-200. That just leaves the mounting bracket and lift setup. I plan on using an electric actuator.

The question I've been wondering is do I go cat-0 or cat-1? I know the 2500's can't handle some of the beefy cat-1 implements, but it seems harder to find cat-0 and you can always bushing it down to fit cat-0 implements.

Now that my FEL is pretty much complete, only need one more arm actuator, I'm ready to move on to the next project. :)
