Hello,

As the title says.... anyone make their own lawn sprayer? I'm interested in making one that powered by a 12 volt diaphragm pump. Any details advice would be great. The unit would be a trailer type with booms. I would like to have around 80" coverage swath.

Thanks guys!

What I’ve found is you can normally buy one for less than you’d have in material, not to mention time. 80” is pretty narrow. I bought a broadcast nozzle from NT for about $20. At around 4’ height I get a good 12’ coverage.

Yeah I suppose you are right. Parts add up quick especially if all new. Just the cart to haul it on would be pricey. Thanks for the feedback.

I used to have a pull-type sprayer that I built to be pulled behind the garden tractor. But a couple years ago I started re-building it into a different kind of applicator. The Roller applicator is a different animal, and does a great no-drift job of lawn weed control. Consider building this, if you want to build something:

I really like that! Very simple! Thanks for sharing. How has it been working for you?

It works great! I've done the whole yard about six times since I put it together last June. Noticable improvement in the yard this Spring, way fewer weeds. It's been nice to be able to apply 2-4D, pretty much regardless of the wind speed. And, yes, it is very simple.

Here is one i made from a pull behind sprayer into an atv sprayer. I am able to spray 14 feet at least with this sprayer. I got the boom about 12" from the ground.

One of these to it, so i dont have to turn around to turn the pump off or on. Wireless Remote Control By Fimco - Mills Fleet Farm

The only thing i want to do is add some valves into the boom so i can shut either one or both of the wings off. I had the sprayer i built the boom for about 50 bucks.
