When I was a kid my grandpa had a Hardee bush hog. I was born in 1982, and it definitely predated me, but it was always a ready good unit. (I'm guess it was probably made in the 60's or early 70's) My dads brother still has it. I ran into him probably a couple years back, and in talking with him it got brought up, and he told me that he still had it, and that it was rocking along good as it ever did. I've know other people with Hardee bush hogs who thought they were good cutters, but I don't know if I've known people with Hardee implements that weren't bush hogs. I might have, but can't remember, or didn't know they had it. Generally I look to the used market, but sometimes you want a fresh, new implement depending on what it is, and the circumstances. I'm from SC, and Hardee is made and based in SC, and I like that, but how good are their disks, or box blades, or scrap blades, or batwing mowers, etc. The only real implement that they make that I'd like to get now if a disk better sized for my 5075E, as the one I have is more suited for an 8N sized tractor. My bush hog and box blade aren't Hardee, but they work fine, and fit my tractor well.

I own one of there 6' box blades. I bought it used about 12yrs ago. I have done alot of work with it yet never changed the cutting edges or scarifiers. Theres no bends or repairs done to it either. It's been behind a 800 series ford, 19hp kubota and currently a ford tc40.

I think I paid $600 for it about 12yrs ago.

I bought one of their 5’ bush hogs about 40 years ago, used it a lot but not abused it and still using it.

It’s set outside the whole time and the deck has not rusted through. I did have to replace the PTO shaft after I hit a stump and broke the yoke.
