Amen. No problems at all in 9 years. When our main 4 ton heat pump went out recently, I tried to sell the wife on replacing with a split unit. No sale. Went with an Amana which I'd never heard of.I installed four Fujitsu mini split units when I retired 19 years ago. All are still working and have had no problems whatsoever.
The only down side to the mini splits is the slight fan noise and the wall units can be a bit unsightly. The filters in the units should be cleaned at least twice a season, perhaps more if you have pets. Like all air conditioners, it's important to keep air flowing through the unit for a period of time after the A/C is turned off. Most have a "fan" setting for this which dries up moisture that can causes mold & mildew on the coils. If this isn't done, the wall units can develop a musty smell.
As a matter of fact, I'm having a new heat pump mini split installed in my garage / workshop this week.
You must not have a newer Mitsubishi with Hyper Heat and a dehumidification setting. Big difference. We have two in our bardominium.
I believe 12,000 b
great for A/C and very quiet. The heat part……not so great!
we had quite a cold winter and a couple space heaters were needed a few times.
