I got it dirty, and now I need to give him a bath.
I'm sure some of you have pressure washed your RTV, and I was wondering how you did it. Any problems, or things to look out for? My main concern is washing the engine & tranny area. Anything special I should watch out for under there?
Have you been using a pressure washer, or just a garden hose? If it is as well sealed as my ZD21, it should have no problem with a little LIGHT pressure wash. Wouldn't want to blast water into breathers & dip sticks, but should stand at least a garden hose? Correct? Or am I way off? That's the reason I ask first. Hopefully to keep me out of trouble.
I will pass on one little tip for a new tool in case you need an excuse for one. :D:D That is to use a "leaf blower" to dry your vehicle off with. Does a GREAT job, quickly. Gets that water out of the nooks and crannies that a towel can't. Try it, if you haven't already...
Thanks for your input.

just use water no soap the pressure washer will push that soap into your bearings and breakdown the grease inside. after you wash it spray the whole thing with armorall or son of a gun tire foam .after you get it muddy again it will be a snap to wash off because the mud won't stick to the oily film on the surface.when i say spray it i mean the whole rtv it keeps the plastics looking new and seats too and like i said it helps out alot on the next washing.

I Havn't yet, if I did, I would use the white tip and only on certain parts like the wheels, dump bed, floor boards, my boots etc.

Shooting water into the bearings and seals not good.

The wand on my PW is too long to work under the wheel wells.

Kinda wish I had a deep water ford to run er through and the way back to the barn.

Yes, I use a hose and brush but stay away from the engine compartment. I also use a leaf blower to remove dust and debris from the enging compartment. Have always done this with my tractors and combine too.

I have pressure washed my RTV since I bought it in '03?

I don't use soap. I do the engine and tranny, plus the wheel wells and undersides......

I have not had any issues and it looks as good as it did back then.

Thanks all,
Looks like some do, some don't. I agree light pressure and no soap. Should not bother anything if I am careful. After all it has mud and grime splashed from some creek, or mud puddle anyway, and has no ill affects, so a little spray should be OK. At least I am going to try it. I do same to my tractors and mowers, and have had no problems there. Would expect the same from Kubota. Yea, I'm ****, but I like my toys clean and neat. Don't mind working them, that's what there for, but doesn't hurt to rub a cloth on them now and then. I may want to sell them one day, and it will pay off then.:thumbsup:
As for the leaf blower, it is my #1 tool in the shop. I can open both doors on the shop, and "sweep" the dust & dirt right out. :D Wife is jealous. works great for blowing the chaff off equipment before putting in barn. I first discovered this with a gas powered back pack blower, but I hated the fumes in the shop so bad, DW bought me an electric model just for the shop. Love it. (& Her) :p Thought I would share.

I wash my RTV and BX as needed. I like to keep them looking halfway nice. I use a garden hose, never used my pressure washer on them even though there were times where that would have been much easier.

The leaf blower is up there with the light bulb as far as inventions:D

I've pressure washed mine, with the amount of mud I had packed everywhere there was no other option  It works very well and I had not issues whatsoever afterward.

Same here for the past 5 years. P wash the engine, undercarriage, interior floors, outside, whatever. I don't generally linger in one spot too long.
