Been holding off on the purchase in anticipation of some enhancements on the L40 series.

Wondered if anyone has driven or purchased one that could update us on the improvements. Most notably the following:

1. Loader valve closer to operator
2. Better ergonomic design on the HST foot pedal
3. Better visibility with sloped hood
4. More speed options on the HST

Thanks

Just curious, but what do you perceive to be the problem with the HST pedal? Coming from a NH tractor, I wouldn't mind a sloped hood, and more gear ranges could be useful, but I really love the "treadle" in my L5030HST vs. the individual pedals on my NH. When you're backing up and have to switch directions, it's much less of a reach for your leg & toes.

The 30 series has an HST pedal that has the operators foot elevated on a pedal with a foot and heel pad. The 40 series HST pedal appears to allow the foot to be at a more natural angle with heal down.

Not saying there is anything wrong with the 30 series pedal, just that the 40 series appears to be more natural position.

I just looked at an L3940 and L5740 both with cabs. The cabs are superior in ergonomic design over the 30 series cabs.

The HST setup is quite nice and really much better than the 30 series. It's no longer a treadle pedal but more like an upright block that your foot sits on. It's a real nice design.

If I can get the right deal I will probably go with an L4330 w/cab. I can get a leftover for $29,900 with fully optioned cab, FEL and QA bucket.

Hey Mad, did thay have any cabbed TC's?

They had a used TN75 (I think) with cab but no FEL and maybe one other used TC with aftermarket cab. They had about a dozen other NH units out front but no cabs on them that I remember. However, I didn't pay too much attention.

The Milford location is mostly Kubota (over 100 units in the lot) and heavy equipment, with a few NH's thrown in. I guess the Brentwood location is where the NH's are at.

I love the more forward position of the new hst pedal. I am tall and the current location is tough on my knee.

Just saw an L4240 at a dealer. Looks really nice. Loader boom is curved and looks better. HST pedal is noticeably different and looks easier to use (I didn't get to drive it). There are additional HST functions left of the steering wheel, including a response control knob and a rabbit/turtle lever like the thing on a NH TC45DA. All in all looks real nice. Only downside is that the bracket for the loader looked really rough - it was painted, but it looked like the metal under the paint had never been machined flat and smooth.
