Anyone purchased this book?

I bought it off Ebay about 4 years ago. I have some experience building and working on homes with stick construction and think I'm fairly compentent. The book left me confused and questioning what to do. I kept going back to figure out what the author meant and what to do next.

In the end, I tossed it someplace and just built the building with the help of some friends who had actually done it before. The author may have built a pole barn, but he sure doesn't explain things very well.

I wouldn't spend $5 for it, which is what I think I paid buying it used.

I bought it and like Eddie said, the author doen't explain himself too well. I used it together with the information from that Website that we spoke of in the http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/projects/93825-build-your-own-pole-barn.html thread to build my pole barn. I'd be happy to loan mine to you when I get it back. It is loaned to a friend who built a shelter for his wife's horses. But, don't spend your money on it. It does have a lot of interesting techniques in it.

Lee,

I'd love to take you up on your offer if you'd be willing to loan it to me. Email me and we can touch base "offline" on the particulars.

Thanks in advance!

Can anybody recommend a good book or website for Gambrel style buildings?

I`m sorry that I don`t have the links handy to back up this statement, but I know that alot of information regarding the construction of pole barns and outbuildings including those with gambrel roofs is available free on-line. Many universities and Cooperative Extensions offer very detailed info. A little Googling or searching on Ask.com should give you lots to read.
