I am very surprised that no one has responded to your inquiry. I have the same question. I just purchased an M 7060 tractor and I am considering purchasing the land pride SGC 1572 or the land pride SGC 2072 and I would value the opinions of those who have used either one of these grapples. Previously, I had used a 5 1/2 foot grapple made by Borgford manufacturing up in Washington state. It is very heavy duty and an excellent grapple. Likely, I will do that again.

Well - I have the Land Pride SGC 1560 on my M6040. At 820# for the 1560 & 922# for the 1572 - Unless you become really abusive - it should stand up to most anything you want to do. I move large rock, large chunks of pine trunk, scrape up brush and backdrag to level with mine. The only "damage" - I've worn, ripped, chipped some of the powder coat off the tine tips. I DO wish LP would just use some type of premium auto paint rather than powder coat.

Also - don't forget to modify your OEM grill guard. Limbs, sticks & stobs - will/can do great damage to your radiator, grill & battery.

Hey - the way "they" think. The OEM grill guard option WILL deflect stuff - like 55 gallon drums, garbage cans and the occasional long 2x4. Without the expanded metal addition or the like - it's just an add-on novelty.

TBN has MANY threads detailing the damage done without some form of added protection. Should you purchase a grapple - be WISE.

I really do like the grill guard expanded metal that you put on your tractor. Where did you get that done? Would you happen to have the plans for it showing dimensions, etc?

After reading several horror stories about damage done w/out protection - had to have something done. So I took the OEM grill guard to our local welding shop. The owner was not there - so I talked to a young fellow. He understood what needed to be done. He welded in the expanded metal and the "tongue" is there to cover where the guard splits. My guard has to split and lean forward to get the hood open.

He did a magnificent job on the guard. He wanted to paint the upper two halves white with blue eye balls. And the tongue painted red. We finally agreed on black.

There are no plans. The frame is OEM option from Kubota. The "kid" added in the expanded metal and fabricated the tongue. The bill for his work - $148.

I’m tuning a SCG1572 on a MX5200. Works great

Hard to see how I could damage it

I agree AndyMA. It would take some real lapse in judgement or a serious accident to damage these HD Land Pride grapples. I know that my SGC 1560 is strong beyond anything I've used it for, so far. But, then again, I'm pretty careful.

I always remind myself - I'm the only one out here if I get into any trouble.

In my case - careful does not mean weak. It simply mean take it slow, be mindful, watch for potential problems.
