Anyone seen this dual action bobcat splitter?

This would be ideal for me and family got to love the no wait time for retract.

I'm going to build one for farm bobcat anyway.

Anyone got any ideas on how to bulid it? Double ended ram?

Just wondering how he keeps the knife from binding??

I did a search but didn't see anyone talking about a splitter like this.

Hey thanks for the links. That gives me lots of ideas. But I don't think I would bother converting it since it's only a 20 ton.

I'm thinking of a 4.5-5" cly 30" long mabby a little longer. We have 3 OWBs and my grandpa burns a longwood in his basement.

So we like a little longer wood and wear cutting alot.

Right now we have no splitter. It's allways been the 5 of us dad grandpa me and my 2 little brother. Lots of sweat and 3 splitting malls going at the same time lol.

But gramps is getting old and little brothers are going off to collage. We need a **** splitter and a **** good one!

Quick Qs why isn't this style of splitter more popular??

It seems like it's ideal no wasted effort for a return stroke.

The patent is 1984 so it may have only recently run out. There was a higher end mfg making them but I can't remember the brand.

I have the Powerhorse 20 ton splitter and it's amazing.The work area is at a nice height.The length is way more compact.(the cylinder is under the bed)Plus it's wery powerful.I've had only one piece that refused to split because it was knotty and I was actually splitting across grain.I just repositioned and it split.It's also super fast.To maximize full effiency I would need one person bringing pieces and two taking them away.It's that fast.Why anyone would want an old fashioned design is beyond me.Unless you're splitting large rounds with the ram vertical.
