I've avoided getting a 3pt mounted snowthrower because it's hard on my back and neck to look over my shoulder for so long. I rode in my friends truck the other day and he has a backup camera, I started wondering if I installed one of those whether it would be possible to do most of the snow removal without turning around.
The front mounted snowthrowers are not only expensive, they leave me without the FEL on the tractor.

Not a bad idea but I worry the blowing snow, and if working in the dusk or dark( as I do a lot ) that it would be hard to see as in a white out condition as you drive. I agree backing up and turning around is a pain in the neck! My wife wanted rear view mirrors put on our tractor but the camera might be an answer. I keep telling her there is no place for the mirrors.

Check out 4Shorts post;he installed a rear view camera for blowing snow.I just installed one on my tractor and my 2013 Silverado has one.I like them a whole lot;havn't used the one on the tractor much yet but it should be fine. The only problem I have found is that water drops(on camera) are visible and a problem, blowing snow "may" also be a problem. All I can say is do your home work and don't purchase a cheap one.

Great thread, thanks. There are lots of these kinds of systems, some are wireless, prices vary all over the map. I like the one he used.

I think I'd try putting it inside the cab to see how that works, wiper keeps the window clean but reflection might be a problem. Most of them have IR sensors so they should see better in the dark than a human.

Some things you may want to consider regarding this issue and that is the alteration in depth perception that will most surely occurr especially if used at night. Granted, this will have to be tested in place to determine if there will be a problem or not. It may be something you can "get used to" over a short period of time maybe. Another issue is condensation even inside a cab will occurr. Even very small minute droplets from condensation will obscure or distort your vision quality. But I do know from personal experiences with these small cameras that if you buy cheap, you will regret it. Go for the higher quality and resolution numbers. Good Luck.
