Anyone use Buhler Farm King Mowers? +\'s of RFM\'s?

Are they any good? How well are they built. Say a guy wants to trade from a side discharge to RFM is this one a good choice. Price is very reasonable. I can get one through the distributing company we go through. They look pretty nice to me.

I like the idea of trimming on both sides less turnaround time needed. These RFM's look like they cut great is it like riding lawn mower quality? How is the striping? I get it once in a while with my current mower. Do RFM's reduce this?

I do not have their mower but do have a medium duty rotatiller with which I am very happy. It has seen many hours of abuse in 50 year old sod and lots of rocks. I'm prety sure that in Canada you may find their tillers painted kubota orange on the Kubota lot.

We are a dealer for those machines and got a closeout memo yesterday that gave us a special 50% off our normal list price-Even with that said, These mowers dont compare to the First Choice brand that we stock when it comes to cost, quality, features and durability and parts availability--Ken Sweet

Are they discontinuing these mowers?

Do you think I would be happy if I switched from a side discharge to a rear? Will the cut be that much better? Do the rear discharge clog in thick grass? Thanks. We don't sell many rear finish mowers. I am just about the only one who has bought one. Never seen a rear discharge in action.

No, they are not closing out that mower, it's one of their shining star's, the sale is to reduce old inventory.

Re: Anyone use Buhler Farm King Mowers? +\'s of RFM\'s?

I have a 6' and it cuts great. The only problem I've had is the pieces that the lift arms attaches to have bent some. Not sure if I've bent them or the weight has caused them to bend. But I can't complain about mine...its worked well.

Thanks

Re: Anyone use Buhler Farm King Mowers? +\'s of RFM\'s?

I have a Buhler 72" RFM mower that I use with my JD4600. I purchased it at the recommendation of my dealer (didn't know about TBN at the time) and have found it to work out quite well. I don't get any striping and it's held up very well for the size of the acreage I cut. I'd recommend it anyone interested in a good quality 72" finish mower.

(I have noted that it is easier to cut with the loader off though as the length of the loader + RFM is quite long)

Re: Anyone use Buhler Farm King Mowers? +\'s of RFM\'s?

I have received my Buhler/Farmking 72" RFM (model Y650R) on 2004/Jul/30. I have cut the grass twice since then (on Jul 31st and today Aug 5th). Personnaly, I find that the cut is superior to my 42" lawn tractor (and much much faster). I've kept the small lawn tractor for tight areas.

I use a rear discharge 84in and really like it. I think this will be the 5th season for it. Actually I came to this site in search of a place to buy replacement blades for it. I recently purchased a set for my 60in 455 JD mower and they were 92 bucks at Deere. My Farm King uses 3 blades that are 3in wide and 30in long. Where do you fellas buy your blades. Thanks Clem from Iowa
