I have this wild hair that makes me want to put a striping kit on my 60" MMM. I have some long straight runs between my house and the road and I think it would look cool, especially since my son is a varsity baseball player. It would get the neighbors talking, anyway. They already think I am a showoff because I mow my lawn with a Kubota. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif Just kidding. My neighbors are good people. I think they are a little jealous is all. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Just kidding, again. But seriously, does Kubota make a striping kit for their mowers and what does it consist of? I think it is a set of rollers that mount on the rear of the deck. Does any one have any knowlege of these attachments. Pros and Cons? Thanks.

I haven't seen a Kubota stripeing kit buit I have seen universal kits for GT's. I've seen them that use a long brush and another that uses a long roller suspended by the 3PH.
I don't recall the links but try a google search.
You could probably make a striper with some PVC pipe and a home mad3 3PH bracket.

Good luck

I'm thinking of doing it to my BX2350 whenever I buy it. I have a Simplicity broadmoor with a 44" deck. They are known for their striping roller and it works well. Perhaps I'll try to take some detailed pics and post them so you can come up with your own design.

The Suggestion about the PVC, pipe, may work for 1 or 2 passes before it's busted... At least on my lawn..

Dang, My R4's do a pretty good job of striping. I wish I could unstripe it cause I can't drive straight. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Is there a special kit so that the dark stripes always stay in the same place. When I go to the other side or later in the day all stripes have been reversed. I like dark, then light, dark, then light.
I guess my Woods has a kit built in, it automatically strips it.

Why not make your own? I posted a few years ago about my home made striper. See what my yard looks like.

Robertm,

I looked up your posts on your striping attachment. I think I will make one like that. It looks simpler than the wheels and the results look very good. I think the flexibility of the rubber flap will probably work better for me because I have a concrete driveway to go up and over at some odd angles.

I noticed in your pictures that the tracks from the center two wheels on your 60" deck are visible. I posted last fall that I eliminated those tracks by removing the rear wheels and holding the rear of the mower up with chains and hooks on the frame of my B3030. I don't know if you could do that on your tractor. I like it a lot better than the way the mower is mounted stock. It was easy to do and by removing the center wheels the mower is even easier to mount and dismount. It even does a better, more level job of mowing, IMHO, because the mower is rolling on the larger wheels of the tractor rather the small wheels on the mower. My lawn is not perfectly smooth so I can now travel faster without having the mower bouncing up and down as much. The front wheels still contact the ground and carry most of the weight of the front and allow the front of the mower to follow the ground contour. I don't have any problems with scalping, either. The picture is of the right side hook and chain before I took the wheels off. Until I was sure I liked this setup I just raised the wheels to their highest position where they did not touch the ground.
