Hi,

Just picked up a 2000 Industrial diesel. It's the 4 cyl. Not sure of the year.

It was missing the fuel shutoff cable entirely when I got it, I can't quite figure out for sure where it would have been routed, etc. Anyone have a pic or can describe where it would attach? It would be a big help.

Current owner was shutting it off by stalling it out in 4th gear at idle. I'd rather shut it off the right way. There is a hole in the dash where I assume it would be.

Thanks!

Thanks TMR. It does have some info on my tractor. Looks like its a 1963 according to serial number.

I just stumbled across some info on another forum that maybe leads me to believe my tractor doesn't have a kill switch after all....maybe the throttle linkage just isn't closing all the way to shut off the fuel?

My 4000 light industrial had a tee handle kill pull switch on it.

on the regular prior diesels you just dump the throttle all the way to kill them.. no cable, no switch.

My 58 Ford is a 4 cylinder diesel also and I was a first time diesel owner. I quickly discovered these old tractors don't need a battery to run. I can switch off my ignition after I crank it, and it'll run all day. Only need electronics to work the electric starter and lights. Throttle lever all the way back counterclockwise starves the fuel pump to kill the engine on mine.

To all, thanks for the help.

I did find a solid rod way down on the trans housing to the right of the gearshift that will shut off the fuel if you hold it back for a couple seconds. It kind of runs through the throttle linkage. There may have been a labeled knob on it at one time.

I'd like to see a pic of that.
