Not trying to start a discussion about what is best, i am in the process of finding something new and just trying to find comparisons that make sense.
So far i have the Branson 5835R as a good fit and good value - compact utility 58hp with good lift capacity and weight. So i want to just get my eye on a couple comparable ones, like what are comparable models from other brands - is Kubota M6060 a comparison?
Was hoping for someone who has one or was considering one to weigh in if possible

Also interested in if anyone had any issues with the 5835 (or 7845 which was big brother/mother).

I wanted to bump your thread for you.

We do have some members that will chime in soon so be patient.

I can tell you that the Branson is a good design and a more simple machine over others in this size. Kubota obviously is a good tractor as well but with more complexity and cost. My advice is test drive all of the ones you are considering and take your time.

Thank you "K5" - yeah i want to test the feel of the loaders, if they let me fill the bucket with something heavy it be great - leaning strongly to this one but want to look at and test drive others - have just found it tricky to figure out exactly what is comparable

I would say the L5460 seems to be closer in specs than the M6060. M6060 is considerably heavier where as the L5460 looks to be just a little lighter.

I have the 4520r Branson. These a pretty well built tractors. They are simple. There are NO computers on them. If the tier4 emissions become a problem, you CAN cut them off and replace it with a regular muffler and it will run just fine. Of course I am not say you SHOULD...lol
With any other tractor, the computer would shut the tractor down.
Simple design and easy to work on. No computer diagnostic either.

My one regret is not getting the hydrostatic version. I use the loader and grapple a lot and my left leg gets tired from the clutch peddle pushing.

Definitely get the tires filled on the 5835. My 4520 is not much lighter than the 5835 and the loader can lift the rear up pretty fast. I finally have fluid ready to go to put in my this weekend.

L5460 is a deLuxe Kubota 'Grand L', with a deLuxe price.

Hello Stokkeland, some tips for loaders. 1) make sure your elbow is slightly bent at full extension (on the joystick), as on extended loader work you will get a sore elbow.
2) Some buckets are hard to fill. Some are easy to fill, the difference is in the floor length. In my experiance, short floor length buckets just don't seem to fill full as well as longer floor buckets.
3)Where is the measure point for max bucket load? Bucket PINS or bucket LIP/cutting edge. BIG DIFFERENCE in numbers and can be quite misleading. Know which is which.
Happy testing.

Thank you everyone - good info. I was unaware of TractorData.com that is a great resource for some paper comparisons, much easier than browsing all these websites

Did a little checking for the fun of it
Looks like the M5660 would be the best comparison?
