Hello everyone. We've grown tired of all the lifting and manual bale carry work. I picked up a 1005 in pretty good shape but cannot find much on it. I do have a 1002/1012 manual with some references and similarities. Mine has the bale offload. The Cessna pump on the print is from a 1012 breakdown on the NewHolland prints. I cannot figure out the linkages for table 1 and table 2 as compared to the print so I think those are different.

Just wondering if anyone here has some insight into what the 1005 is or where it fits between a 1002 and 1012 unit?

So my buddy who owns a 1012 (and also contributes to the HAY forum here) came over and we figured this unit out. Overall, I put in a new seal on the Cessna pump. We filled the hydraulic tank up and went to work w/ the rust penetrating oil. The unit is now up and running in a limited sense that we hand fed a few bales ;-) I am actually taking it out to the 6acres today as it's a gorgeous day here in mid michiigan. 500 or so to run through the new holland 268 and then try to run this unit thru it's paces. Enjoy and everyone cut, bale, transport and maw safe please!
CG.

Thanks. I did. Just posted. The 1012 is a nice unit! very similar controls. I'm really not sure why NH had so many similar yet disimilar setups. I just sort of wonder? The 1012 of my buddies splits from table 2. and tips up w/ the load rack apart from #2. Yet mine has to lift the whole dar n#2 table up in the air. That's a lot of top end weight??? The contols look similar but are in different locations from the 1012/ to tht 1005. But that is just small stuff. It's a really interesting set of actuators and hydraulic valves. interlocks and limits. a log of fun to tinker on.

I'm not a Safety Police type person. However some years (maybe 10 years) I had to go to a funeral of a 40 year old friend that a New Holland harrow bed cut his head off. He was an only child and His dad found him that way. Just use Good common sense when working on that thing. I know as with many styles and kinds of mechanical machines it's up to the operator as to how safe they are. Just reading about all the complicated mechanisms to adjust made me think about my buddy. bjr
