I am about to pull the trigger on a TnT system from FitRite Hydraulics. The owner has been walking me through the steps involved and has helped me an extremely lot in understanding the system. His customer service really is one of the best I've delt with.
That being said, I have read a lot about the pros and cons of DPOCV's vs. non check valve cylinders. You can literally read for days on here and not get through everything.

I would like to ask a question to those people who have non check valve cylinders on they're TnT systems.

Have you run into any circumstances where you wish you HADN'T gotten the non check valve cylinders?

I know people say there is more movement with them than the DPOCV, but if so, does it actually affect what you are doing?

If you had to do it over again, would you go with the DPOCV cylinders instead?

The way I see it, is my loader has a float position, I have never come to situation where it has been a disadvantage...I simply don't use it when I don't want it, but it is very helpful when pushing snow or many other situations, so I'm glad I have it.

Please give me your feedback, thank you...
And thanks again to FitRite hydraulics for such great customer service, whether it's hay season or not :D:thumbsup:

DPOCV's are used to set a cyl at a certain position, and not have to keep adjusting the height or level of the attachment.

You mentioned loader, and float. What was the question about the loader?

I have Top and Tilt without the DPOCV. If I were to do it over again I would check on getting the DPOCV on the tilt cylinder. Adjusting the tilt takes a half a second so I don't see it as a big issue though. So if the cost were much more I would get the same as I have now. The top cylinder valve on my tractor has a float position and I use the float. You cant use the float on a DPOCV equipped valve.

Either of the systems is nice to have. There are pros and cons to both types of systems. Obviously the systems with the DPOCVs do not move at all, and that is a great thing when it comes to farming. You sure don't want your implement changing positions on you when you have it set to a certain height or depth.

Now having the ability to use float mode is very nice IMO. I personally use float mode with my side link where I have either a T or a Y type of intersection with the roads that I maintain. The roads go off of one another at an off camber type of angle and when grading and especially when smoothing it is nice to hit float right at that moment and the implement floats and twists with the different angles in the roads. Makes for a very good transition from one road to another. My understanding is that float mode with the side link is also very nice when using a rear blade to remove snow. Using the RB in reverse and having the side link in float mode, the blade follows the terrain perfectly and does not dig in.

These things can't be done with a side link that has a DPOCV. Not that it is a huge deal, but it is a function that can't be done with most std 3pt hitches. There are others that use float mode with their top link for various reasons and again these can't be done with a top link that has a DPOCV on it.

I am not against the check valves, just that each system has its limitations and I personally have not found the leak down of the top and tilt to be any problem. Mine leak such a small amount that it is not even noticeable. Now I don't do any farming, and if I did I may well feel different, but as far as grading, I make adjustments often enough that the drift that so many talk about simply is not a factor for me.

Just wanted to point out some of the differences between the two types of systems. ;)
