Well, sorry I been out for so long, its the Army life, you get the idea, but I got a phone that gets internet so I should be good, I think lol

Anyways, the Army pay check isnt that good ( duh :) ), and with Ohio's current septic laws, I need all the money I can inorder to start building within 2 years like planned. I was wondering if there is another company offering that can hang with the B26 but is cheaper by a big enough amount. The B26 is a nice unit overall, but I want to see if I can find a lower price out there.

Anyways, important things about the B26
*The power it offers - 1 ton in the FEL, and the BH820 or whatever BH it has, those are crucial, so specs must be close enough to rival those.

*Digging depth and Power on the BH - again, the BH is going to be the star of the show usualy, so it needs to be able to run without dropping the ball. 180* swing is nice to, but 150 could work in a pinch

*Size & weight, 2 tons even for a TLB, thats important fo rmy trailering abilities, but a little more might be do-able

*Price, obviously

*a canopy is nice, but I bet I could rig one up if I had too

*The single seat design is nice too, and if there is a tractor that is a bit wider than the B26, that would be cool too

*Um, yea, not sure what else to say, so If yall can think of any other good points for other brands, fire away

Thanks for the input, and its great to be back, even though its only for a hot minute

Roth, there is no competition for the B-26 tractor that is going to save your money. Try to find a used B-21 or a L-35 if you can. There is nobody until recently anyone who has tried to enter the market these tractors cover.

Terramite and Almond make this size rental / construction class machine. However they are a joke compared to a B26.

Hmmm. I had very similiar requirements to yours.

I ended up with Kioti CK30 HST with Woods LC102 FEL w/QA and the Woods BH80X backhoe. This unit probably weighs in around 5500 lbs (filled tires)., it has a 4 year warrenty and is a few thousand less $$ than the B26. Is it "construction" grade?? I've been told no, but man it is "beefy" and for my homeowner only needs I am sure it will do.

I was torn between this and a used L35. The L35 is even beefier as I think it weighs in over 6000lbs (unfilled tires). It has more capacity, stronger hydraulics, single seat, FOPS etc... In the end I could not find a decent used one within resonable driving distance.

You may also want to look at a Kubota L3400/L2800 with perhaps a Woods BH80X. There are more used ones around (tractor/loader) then the BH80X could be added. This setup is about 500 lbs lighter than the Kioti CK30 setup I have.

Weight has got nothing at all to do with durability. This series of tractors is made for outright abuse. Like a rental situation where guys will beat the machine just because they can, or on a job site where its pounded for 8 hours a day. Its much more expensive than even Kubota's standard line of compacts... two different series tractors for two different jobs.
