The manual for my Kubota says that the service class for the engine oil should be CC or CD. Does this mean that any quart of oil that I pick up with either of those class markings would be OK for my tractor or does the oil container have to have those class indicators plus say that it is for diesel engines? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

The first C in CC and CD means it's a diesel rating. Classifications that start with an S are for gasoline engines. There are several oils that are rated for both types of engines.

Any second letter of the rating that is higher than C or D means a higher spec and can be safely substituted.
