It's not just factory jobs. The largest employer in my town used to be a insurance company. They keep downsizing, while increasing the foriegn workers. Computer operations are mostly gone, along with accounting and actuaries. Most of these jobs went to India. One of my neighbor's had 24 years in as a accountant, got let go. Meanwhile, the top management has had multi million dollar bonuses. It's the way corporate America works these days.

If those changes lead to higher profits your answer is yes. HS

Gee how did man ever get along since 3,300 BCE without Federal help. Where oh where was all the free hand out when this Country was formed. Go figure, people still lived, still ate food still slept, still had clothes on their back. Millions of people never ever died on the street emaciated. No we need to give free housing, free welfare, free food stamps, free medical- WHY WORK ? Here's it in a nut shell. My Dad who had a heart attack and could barely walk worked up the energy to take some turkeys to a food bank. He arrived struggled to bring in the dozen turkeys and not one person offered to help him. The lobby was full of young male studs drinking free coffee and smoking cigarettes and sat and watched him hand deliver food to them.
I can assure you far far more people are scamming the system then the really needy people who deserve it.
When I was younger and had to count every penny I spent I stood over the meat counter for many minutes calculating the best bang for my limited dollars. A women walked up grabbed a dozen pieces of various meat, steaks, Chicken , filets etc. loaded up her cart and left. At the time I thought WOW, must be nice to be able to just grab what you want and leave.
Later I was behind her in line with a good size cart full of food, when it came time to pay - she got out her free government food card and paid. As I followed her out she drove off in an Escalade while talking on her cell phone.
If you hand people everything they will take it - that's human nature to do less for more.

I think everyone should quit working & let the gov provide all our needs.
The gov seemed to think people were dying in the streets from lack of food & health care.
