We purchased a CK3510 gear version last year and are approaching the 50hr service interval. Unfortunately, the selling dealership turned out to be a little less forthright than one might hope, and Kioti pulled their retail agreement with them shortly after we purchased. We didn't find this out until we called up there to get some new loader zerks/grease fittings. The fittings wouldn't take grease, and apparently Kioti shipped the loader anyway with dry, ungreased fittings. Either the dealer didn't catch it or didn't care. A trip to tractor supply fixed that problem, and aside from that, the tractor has been great. It did go through a regen cycle around 30hrs, which was surprising, but hopefully that's a non issue. So far...so good.

The nearest dealer is now over an hour and half away, and IMO it isn't worth it to trailer the tractor that far for routine service work. Per the manual, it looks like I need to:
-Replace engine oil
-Replace engine oil filter
-Replace transmission filter (called the hydraulic filter in the pic below i assume? Also, can this be replaced without losing huge amounts of fluid?)
-Replace fuel filter
-Other various checks (wheel lug torque, air filter, clutch and brake free play, hoses, tire pressure, grease, etc)

Anything I'm missing, or any tips in general?

Thanks!

On my DK45 I drained the transmission / hydraulic fluid front and rear as well. I would suggest it as you will see there will be metal shavings on the magnetic drain plug. This is completely normal by the way.

It looks like they changed the orientation (and maybe even the location) of the Hydraulic filter on the XX10 series so I won't hazard a guess on fluid loss - BUT - IIRC for the 50 hour service they recommend you change the hydraulic fluid as well so it shouldn't matter this time around.

I'll have to go back and brush up on the service stuff myself - coming up on 200 hour service soon.

For the engine oil filter, you should be able to cross reference to a Napa or WIX filter number, the Hydro (and HST for those models) I don't think anyone has found a cross reference from a Kioti brand filter yet so you will probably have to order the Hydro filter from somewhere. I have used Michigan Iron & Equipment for parts before. They are a great place to order from, long time Kioti dealer, and super helpful folks in general.

Best of luck & welcome to "the pack" ;)

Thanks for the advice.

I was unaware the transmission/hydraulic fluid was supposed to be changed, as it doesn't appear to the listed in the "Major Maintenance Items" (picture 1) found on the inside of the owner's manual front cover or in the actual Maintenance Schedule from Ch. 7 of the manual (picture 2). With that said, if it's common practice to do the fluid, I'll go ahead and do so. I'll call the dealer an hour and a half away and see what he will charge me to ship the hydraulic filter. It might be a good idea to build some kind of relationship with them. Then again, I'll check out the Michigan Iron people in the link below if the price is a good bit better.

Now, I'll start searching all the oil threads to see what engine and hydraulic oil should be used. If this formum is anything like the dirtbike forum I post on, there's probably a thousand oil thread threads out there with a thousand and one different opinions:laughing:

Thanks again

Changing the hyd fluid at 50 hours is common practice, while some do not do it for various reasons. I know some of the manuals say to do it and others are vague. From my experience I would definitely change the fluid.

You are certainly correct about the engine oil conversations. So long as it meets CJ rating or higher, and is multi weighted for your climate, you will be fine. If you live in a climate that becomes fairly cold in the winter, Rotella T6 5w40 is a favorite around here. But there are many great oils.

Have a look at this kioti product support bulletin for capacities and oils they recommend. There are certainly other oils that still fit the bill, but this is a good start

Thanks for the chart.

I believe I'll go with Shell Rotella T5 15W-40. I'm near metro Atlanta, and it doesn't get too terribly cold very often.
