Is anyone running Aquiline Talon chains on their 3x20 series along with the wide R4 (15x19.5) rear tires?
I'm concerned about the clearance between the sidewall and the inside of the fender.
i am running them on much bigger tiresbut i'm looking at running them on my L3400 Kubota (i believe it shares a tire size with you) and the talons are only running down the center chain. The sidewall of the chain (so to speak) is just a standard chain. If you have clearance issues with that then it doesn't matter what the pattern is running down the tire. What I'm trying to say is thesidewall profile of the chain should be the narrowest hight of the chain (If it has v-bars or talon style lugs) how much room do you have from the sidewall to the nearest part of your fender? Whats the clearance between your tread and the bottom of the fender over the tire?
Thanks for your response. I have 2.5" between the sidewall and the inside of the fender and a minimum of 4.5" clearance on top to the tire to the fender. It's that inside clearance that concerns me and I already have the wheels in the wide position.
I can measure the height of the chain on my 16.9-30 tires to give you a rough idea of worst case scenario. The chain should be a little bit smaller on the smaller tires I would imagine.
