Snowblower Aquilon Snowblower. Any good?

Anyone own or have any comments on Aquilon snow blowers?
Is Aquilon the correct spelling as I can't seem to find any info on them and I may look at a used one that a guy has for sale?

Have a 48" Aquilon hydrostatic drive snowblower attachment mounted on front of a basterdized Jacobsen LF-100 / T422D mix Turfcat. The prior owner alleges to have purchased the aftermarket attachment new about 13 years ago for approximately $2,000.00. The equipment nameplate implies that it was manufactured by a Canadian company. Attached is a digital photograph of the Aquilon and the Jacobsen it is used on.

My actual experience with its use indicates that it is a good piece of equipment.

I have been searching the web to find out more about this equipment - particularly repair / service / parts manuals. No luck. This forum and this thread is the only hit reached after days of searching. Estimate approximately 72 manhours exhausted in performing all kinds of search strings and reading thousands of resulting "hits".

Never heard of the Aquilon brand.......... but i can assure you that particular blower was manufactured by RAD in Canada. They make blowers under the 'names' Massey Ferguson, Kubota, New Holland / Case, Frontier, and i'm sure others...... as well as their own brand, Blizzard. It is definitely a well made unit. I'd say one of the best made snowblowers on the market.

It does look similar to the Kubota blowers I have seen.

Okay,

Finally received some information and help from RAD Technologies, Inc.

My AQUILON, Model Number JT2051 Snowblower was manufactured pre-1994 by Aquilon Technologies, Inc, Quebec, Canada.

The JT potion of the Model Number indicates that it is designed to mount to the front of a Jacobsen Turfcat (JT).

Here is what RAD TEchnologies had to say in an email to me:


"RAD Technologies did buy the Aquilon's assets when it went bankrupt in 1994 and you can purchase parts directly from us. We can't however guarantee that all parts are available since your snowblower was manufactured back in 1993. Attached is the operator's and parts manual for your unit.

If you need additional information don't hesitate to contact us again.

To save everyone some effort - Will make an attempt to attach the manual for this machine to this Posting.

Have used this snowblower extensively this winter - the thing cuts like a surgeon around delicate obstructions - like garage doors (where plows leave piles). Have to swear by it.

The F Series Kubuta snowblower mounts similar using a quick connect adaptor - but it LOOKS cheaper and less substantial.

Still preffer the Blizzard by RAD TEchnologies - looks very similar to the AQUILLON.

Wonder if they sell a quick connector adaptor.
